{Cakes & Sweets: Carried Away}
March 30, 2009
We are suckers for beautiful things. And when we see someone who turns a cake into a work of beauty and art, wee have to brag about them.
We're loving the designs by Carrie Sellman. It's easy to see why her cakes are so desirable because she does things most cake makers would not attempt - sculpted, heavy in detail, intricate designs.
We think you will be equally carried away by her sensational designs as we have been. We've chosen to feature her "Cherry Blossom" which certainly makes our Pink Blossom List for favorite cakes and sweets!!!!

Recently, the invention of Facebook has brought us closer with people we would never have met otherwise. One such amazing wedding buddy is Karen Tran, San Diego event and wedding designer extraordinare. We can't even begin to sing the praises of Karen Tran so instead of going on and on, let's just show you what she does. It's magical.

{Real Weddings: Atsu & Ryan Chapter One}
The first real wedding for our Pink Blossom List should embody a gentle, feminine and classic sensibility. This beautiful summer wedding happens to feature a wonderful blend of soft hues in light pale rose. The bride, Atsu, wanted blossom in the invitations as well as an element of nature. Isn't the invitation quite darling?
Original featured in Northern California Bride's Magazine, Nancy has generously put together these images for all of us to enjoy. This rose, champagne, taupe wedding is the quintessential modern yet classic wedding. The images were captured splendidly by Rose Marie Lion of Lion Photography.

We have been actively following Lisa Wong Jackson of Good on Paper Design for years every since she and Nick tied the knot at the Acqua Hotel. Their love story has been documented by numerous magazines and blogs including Style Me Pretty and Snippet & Ink. We both will never forget how special their wedding day was and how we played a little part in their wedding celebration. Setting up the flowers, hanging the kissing balls down the aisle, putting together the welcome table and placing those adorable table numbers in the wheatgrass - oh! what fun! It was by far one of the best weddings ever and of course, our dear thanks to Lisa Lefkowitz for capturing the essence of the day.
We recently found this great offer on Lisa's Good on Paper Design website featuring all wall calendars at 50%. Visit Good on Paper Design to see their selection of wonderful paper products.
Here's a sample of some of her wall calendars.
For something unique, Good on Paper Design is the best to go for great wedding invitations as well as other paper products. As many of you might know Lisa is a talented graphic designer who's work stretches beyond weddings. We just love her sense of style and of course, her dog, Pixel is darn cute!
{Cake & Sweets: Gum Drop Cookies}
How adorable are these Gumdrop Cookies? When I first saw them, I wanted to order a dozen in every pattern. Beautiful. Simple. Sweet.
This chocolate design is one of my favorite.
Isn't the image of the bride a great idea? For more designs and inspiring cookies, visit the Gumdrop Cookie Shop!

We’ve been HUGE admirers of Jeannie Savage’s Details Details Event Design Company for many years. The design team at Details Details has established a solid reputation for being true innovators of original, fresh, and creative wedding designs. One of the company’s specialties is crafting and creating weddings for destination brides, planning from afar.
Details Details offers full service event coordination and production and from what we’ve seen, the details are indeed perfectly executed and meticulously thoughtful. Whether it’s a ballroom fantasy or a modern American outdoor wedding, Jeannie and her dynamic team seem to know just the right thing to do. They take the development of a concept or vision to a new level of FABULOUSNESS.
One of the things we’ve always loved is their interpretation of colors and textural elements. This soft white and light aqua wedding is one of our favorite designs. We love how it’s soft, feminine, relaxed and sweet yet there’s a level of sophistication to it. They truly are all about those small but significant details and - it shows. Details Details have gained a national reputation for producing elegant, unforgettable events in Southern California and beyond. We hope you like them as much as we do.
{Cakes & Sweets: Oh So Pretty Cherry Blossoms }

Whether it’s a wedding reception, rehearsal dinner, or bridal shower, there’s always room for a special table of sweets from candies to chocolates to mini cakes. And seriously - there’s nothing as beautiful or as unique as the fanciful dessert tables designed by Amy Atlas.
You could say that Amy has had plenty of time to hone in her skills since Amy has been entertaining for friends and family since she was young. By the time she reached college, the delightful Amy had perfected her talent of crafting together “signature” dessert tables. Like Nancy#1 who went the corporate route, Amy also deterred and worked in corporate careers before she ultimately returned to her passion.
For Amy, desserts bring back many sweet memories of a childhood in which she sat in her grandmother’s bright kitchen on a spring afternoon, watching her grandmother pull homemade rocky road cake out of the oven. After the cake was pulled out of the oven, Amy’s Grandma would let her drizzle caramel icing over the delicious cake. To this day the smell of rich, melted caramel reminds Amy of those wonderful afternoons, when it felt like the world belonged to just the two of them and the core of her joy was a simple, rocky road cake.
The first image of the cherry blossom dessert table caught our eye and we had to share the details with our readers. If only we could smell the chocolate lollipops! Delicious!

What is the Pink Blossom List?
The brainchild of Nancy Liu Chin (proprietor and creative force of Nancy Liu Chin Designs) and Nancy Yu Trio (former client of Nancy Liu Chin Designs and fellow wedding enthusiast), the Pink Blossom List is a forum for all things modern, classic and American in weddings. The details, the colors, the designs, the flavor of a wedding and all the people that make these events so unforgettable are the focus of the Pink Blossom List.
